W.Bro Henry Caylor, Immediate Past Master of Croeso 8377 made the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Centre his chosen Charity, and through a number of Masonic and non Masonic functions and activities he and the Brethren of the Lodge were able to raise £1,000 to aid the invaluable work of the CBMRT. The team at the centre are totally self funded, as many of the rescue services in Britain are, and the funds will be used to help purchase additional equipment to aid the members of the rescue unit to carry out their vital operations. Currently there are fifty three volunteers working within the unit, using two fully equipped Land Rovers, plus an Iveco Truck that serves as a Command Centre in rescues that may need more than one vehicle. W.Bro Henry was joined by W.Bro Roger Richmond, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, on the hillside near the CBMRT Centre, to present the funds raised to the representatives of the rescue team. Pictured, receiving the cheque, left and right of W.Bro Roger and W.Bro Henry respectively are Gayle Sheppard – Fund Raising Officer – and Huw Jones – Senior Operational Member – along with a number of other team members who were conducting a training exercise.
